In 7 days, almost to the minute as I write, England will be kicking off their World Cup adventure against the USA. So this time next week, the beers will be cold, the big screen TV will be cranked up with the surround sound blaring, England shirts on...hoping for the best.
So I know I'll be there (in spirit!), but the question is how many stars will actually make it to the finals...? The list of big names likely to be absent is growing; a rash of injuires over the last few days, added to previous casualties, has put a lot of big names out, or in doubt.

Didier Drogba - Ivory Coast
Jon Obi Mikel - Nigeria
Michael Essien - Ghana
Arjen Robben - The Netherlands
Michael Ballack - Germany
Andrea Pirlo - Italy
I can't help thinking that some players may start to take it a bit easier in training over the coming days for fear of the same thing happening to them! Where's Rooney? Pass me that big bag of cotton wool!
